Ringfeder Acquires Brake and Clutch Manufacturer, Carlyle Johnson

We’re excited to announce we recently acquired Carlyle Johnson Machine Company. Founded in 1903 in Hartford, CT, the company designs and manufactures motion control components like mechanical, electrical and pneumatic clutches and braking systems, as well as the associated electrical controls and lubrication seals.

A Natural Fit

Carlyle Johnson products, which play a role in medical equipment, aerospace, industrial and defense applications, are a natural complement to our power transmission products. For example, while we supply the clamping elements for robotic arms in surgical applications, Carlyle Johnson will supply the electromagnetic brakes.
